1/8/2024 0 Comments Staff accompanist positionAdaptable, flexible, and respectful with regard to their work and co-workers.Demonstrated confidence and belief in, and ownership over their work.Previous experience working in theatre, performing/visual arts, or a related field.Highly organized, energetic, enthusiastic and passionate about theatre and community building at York.Previous skills and experience support ability to make a positive contribution to all tasks related to the smooth functioning of Vanier College Productions.An intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Office (Docs, Sheets, etc.) are strongly recommended.Preference will be given to applicants with a proven track record of demonstrated leadership, as well as a genuine interest in working in a collaborative team-based environment to foster community at York through theatre production and performance.Serving as a support for students involved in Vanier College Productions and providing assistance with conflict resolution when needed.Attend all training sessions, weekly staff and production meetings (Mondays 4:00-7:00 pm throughout the fall/winter terms), midterm and final personal and professional review as outlined in the Becoming YU program.Attending and participating in regular meetings with artistic and production staff throughout the 2022-2023 season.Assisting with production and marketing for all productions/events in the 2022-2023 season where needed.Leading a show choir of Vanier College Productions students and a band of musicians in the end-of-term performances.Attending all weekly rehearsals throughout the fall and winter terms, technical rehearsals and performances.Learning/performing the piano for all show choir rehearsals and performances.Assisting the Music Director in teaching music to the choir.Working with the artistic team to develop programming and curriculum for the choir.Collaborating with the artistic team to direct the show choir.Work-Study students support Vanier College Productions' performing arts experiential education activities, including working with alumni, staff, and students in fostering community through producing a season of shows, workshops, and events. Vanier College Productions provides opportunities for students to work under the LEAP Work-Study program, receiving yearlong mentorship, guidance, and leadership training in a theatrical setting.
